An evening with the Software Testing Experts sponsored by Sela Canada and Microsoft Canada

Sela Canada, an ISTQB accredited training provider and Microsoft Canada sponsored an open event  at Microsoft headquarters in Mississauga, ON. This event  featured " Requirements-Based Testing including Cause-Effect Graphing" by Gary Mogyorodi, President of The Canadian Software Testing Board .

I, as an Executive CSTB Board Member and Raymond Rivest, Senior Advisor at CRIM were present in the Expert panel. I presented the benefits and importance of the ISTQB and CSTB certification and also introduced CSTB social media activities to about 100 audiences. This event was also telecasted live on www.istbbcourses.ca.

Eran Barlev, Director of Sela Canada and Jody Mooney, Executive CSTB Board Member also participated in this event.

This event covered following topics:
  • The 12 point Requirements-Based Testing (RBT) process.
  • How the RBT process stabilizes the completeness of the specifications early in the development    process.
  • The two components of RBT, Verification and Validation including a verification technique called Ambiguity Reviews to drive out ambiguities from requirements.
  • Tools to translate Cause-Effect Graphs into logical test cases and evaluate previously existing test libraries to cover the problem description. 
  • Gaining perspective of this calibre will help you be an indispensable resource in the software testing process

ISTQB® Software testing certifications exceed 200,000

ISTQB® announces that as of Dec 31, 2011 more than 200,000 software testing certifications have been issued world-wide.

ISTQB® would like to congratulate to all the stakeholders that have been involved in this achievement, making ISTQB® the world leader, with certifications issued in more than 70 countries.

CSTB launched its new website

The CSTB (Canadian Software Testing Board) is the Canadian national branch of the ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board). As such, it advocates education and examination as a practical means to excel in the software testing field. The CSTB is one of many national boards participating in the ISTQB.

During the CSTB bi-monthly meeting  held at the CSTB office in Toronto on 19th March, 2012, the board of directors unanimously approved the new website and is released to the public. The new website address remains unchanged as www.cstb.ca.   The new website has been upgraded to include new functionalities and the ease of access for information's. 

The transition to the new website should be relatively transparent to the testing community . All the previously existing information is still available to the public.

Key features of the new website:
  • More professional looking website and improved site organization to handle both current and future  information's.
  • Improved user-friendly site design,  graphic  design and navigation to schedule and register for an exam.
  • More information about the  CSTB and its ongoing social media activities in the software testing community.
  • One stop shop for all the questions related  to scheduling and registering for an exams.
  • Easy access to exam information's, ISTQB training providers, ISTQB syllabi, glossary and related links.
